Police seek info on another violent incident at Royal Dorado

Bar

Riverhead police are looking for information after a man was reportedly stabbed at the Royal Dorado Bar on East Main Street early Saturday morning — the third violent incident reported at the bar within the past two-and-a-half months.

Riverhead police responded to a report of a disturbance at the bar shortly before 2 a.m.. According to officials, the victim of an apparent stabbing had left the area and was later found at his home. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he underwent surgery for internal injuries.

A representative with the hospital said on Saturday afternoon that the victim was listed in good condition.

According to police, the victim described the man who stabbed him in the abdomen as an unknown Hispanic male.

Saturday morning’s incident came just one week after a man had a beer bottle thrown at his face. Riverhead resident Diego Abrego was charged with second-degree assault.

And in mid-May, a man said he was attacked by three other men in the parking lot around 5 a.m. and stabbed in the hand.

The investigation into Saturday morning’s incident is currently ongoing. Police encourage anyone that may have witnessed the incident to call the Riverhead Police Department at (631) 727-4500.
