Riverhead blotter: Larceny suspect was wanted by Suffolk County cops

A woman wanted by the Suffolk County police fugitive squad was allegedly caught stealing from Target last Tuesday morning, Riverhead Town police said.

Arketa Ramos, 39, was arrested for petit larceny about 11:30 a.m., police said. She was held until Suffolk County authorities picked her up, according to a police report.

No additional information about her arrest was available.

• An Elton Street resident reported that someone claiming to be an IRS agent tried to “collect money” from her by phone Saturday morning, police said.

According to a police report, the victim determined the agent was a fake, blocked the phone number (360-566-2212) and contacted Verizon.

• Someone stole $60 in cash, prescription drugs and a phone charging cord from a car parked outside TJ Maxx on Route 58 Friday afternoon, according to a police report.

The alleged theft occurred about 12:45 p.m., police said.

• About $2,500 was reportedly taken from a bank account in Riverhead last Thursday morning about 11:55 a.m., police said. Additional information about the alleged theft wasn’t available, as police are investigating.
