The Riverhead Town Board discussed a one-year moratorium proposal on medical marijuana dispensaries at its Tuesday afternoon meeting.
The board was also expected to vote on hiring outside legal counsel to defend the town against a lawsuit filed by assessor and town Republican leader Mason Haas, who is seeking to overturn a town law banning elected officials from being political party leaders. In addition, there were a number of upcoming special events up for approval.
