State police: Riverhead man caught driving with stolen license plates

A Riverhead man with a revoked license was caught driving a car with stolen license plates last Thursday, according to a New York State Police press release. 

Jason Thompson, 25, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and multiple traffic violations, police said.

Mr. Thompson was pulled over for a traffic stop on Route 104 in Riverside and police determined the license plates on the vehicle had been stolen. Police did not specify what time the arrest occurred.

Mr. Thompson was held for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.

• On Sept. 8, State police arrested a Selden woman who had an active bench warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to a release.

Tierra McNair, 23, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 58 in Riverhead. Police found Ms. McNair to be in possession of marijuana and other controlled substances, police said. She also had an active bench warrant out of Southampton Town Justice Court.

She was held overnight to be arraigned in Riverhead Town Court, police said.

• On Sept. 8, State police arrested a 53-year-old Riverhead man for driving while intoxicated in Riverhead.

Michael Hubbard was stopped for a traffic violation while traveling northbound on Northville Turnpike, police said. He was released on traffic tickets returnable to Riverhead Town Court on Oct. 5, police said.
