Two people were arrested Wednesday on drug charges in Riverhead after an investigation by the East End Drug Task Force, Riverhead Town Police said.

Police executed a search warrant at 641 Doctors Path, Apt. 5 and recovered crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash, police said. Darryn Hardin, 28, and Tanisha Whitley, 31, both of Riverhead, were both arrested on multiple drug charges, police said.

Riverhead Town’s C.O.P.E. and K-9 units along with Suffolk County Emergency Services assisted in the raid, which was the result of an investigation into drug sales at the apartment.

Both Mr. Hardin and Ms. Whitley are charged with a pair of felonies: fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell). They were also charged with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Both Mr. Hardin and Ms. Whitley have prior arrests, according to previous reports. Mr. Whitley was involved an Independence Day stabbing in 2011. She was charged with second-degree assault in that incident.
