Two women and an infant were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after their SUV flipped over on Route 105 this morning in Southampton.
According to Southampton Lieutenant Todd Spencer, the Ford Explorer flipped over for “undetermined reasons” just before 9 a.m. The vehicle had been traveling northbound when it hit the guardrail and crossed over into the southbound lane before flipping.
No other cars were involved in the wreck.
Riverhead and Southampton police responded to the scene along with Flanders-Northampton volunteer ambulance. The crash closed the right southbound lane of Route 105 just south of the Peconic River, and it remains closed as of 9:30 a.m.
