The Riverhead Republican Committee and its town supervisor candidate, Jodi Giglio, are leading the way in campaign contributions, according to financial disclosure reports filed Oct. 2.

The Republican committee has raised a total of $103,030 in campaign funds since January, tops of any of the fundraising committees involved in this fall’s Riverhead Town elections.

Councilwoman Jodi Giglio, who has the Republican nomination for supervisor, is next with a total of $91,257 raised since January. That figure includes $33,685 raised from her “Jodi Giglio for Town Council” committee in the January and July filings. After that, she raised $57,130 from a “Friends of Jodi Giglio” committee set up for her supervisor run.

The third biggest fundraiser since January is incumbent Republican Supervisor Sean Walter, who is running on the Conservative line after losing a Republican primary to Ms. Giglio. He has raised $68,784 since January. Democratic candidate Anthony Coates comes in a distant third among the supervisor candidates, having raised $7,074.

The fourth overall biggest campaign fundraiser since January is Jeanmarie Costello, the Democratic candidate for town justice. She’s raised $35,548.
