Don’t miss this year’s Veterans Day events around Riverhead

Ceremonies and events have been planned for Tuesday and Wednesday to celebrate Riverhead’s local veterans.

At Riverhead Free Library Tuesday night, veterans will share their humorous stories as part of “Celebrate Veterans,” a lecture with patriotic music played by Daniel Keyes. The talk is set to begin at 7 p.m.

On Veterans Day, Riverhead’s Veterans Committee will host a ceremony at the World War Memorial at the corner of Court Street and West Main Street. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.

Calverton National Cemetery will also host its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Riverhead Town Hall, local schools and government offices and the Riverhead Free Library will all be closed.
