Marie R. Boutcher of Laurel died at Riverhead Care Center Nov. 11, 2015. She was 93 years old.
She was born in Bay Shore, Nov. 16, 1921, to Robert Raymond and Bessie May (née Foster) Ryder.
Predeceased by her husband, Frederic H. Boutcher, Jr. Dec. 13, 1995, she is survived by sons, Robert F. (Sharon), Frederic III and Gerald (Arta); five grandchildren: Johanna Gamboa, Frederic Boutcher IV, Nathan Boutcher, Andrew Boutcher and Emmadora Boutcher and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Betty Brown.
Marie was a music teacher at Riverhead BOCES; teaching being her true passion. She also gave private lessons in her home for many years. Marie was active for many years in the Mattituck Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. After retirement was a volunteer for Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.
The family received visitors Nov. 13 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Funeral services were held Nov. 14, at the funeral home. Interment took place at Laurel Cemetery.
