Constance Bilski

After a brief illness, Constance Bilski died Dec. 2 in Riverhead at the age of 87. 

Constance, affectionately known as Connie, was born, April 11, 1928, in Greenport to father, Charles McKay and mother, Katherine Babski-McKay. She grew up in a large, loving family with six sisters and five brothers.

Connie was an avid Yankees fan; and loved to entertain her family and friends, as well as always entertaining her families’ friends. She was particularly “nuts” over the squirrels that frequented her backyard.

Predeceased by her husband, Edward, and all of her sisters and brothers, Connie is survived by her seven children, Bruce Gajowski and his wife, Ann, Mark Gajowski and his wife, Wendy, Judy Gajowski, Robert Gajowski and his wife, Shaun, Brenda Bilski, Cathy Bedyan and her husband, Greg and Lisa Bilski; her six grandchildren, Keith Gajowski and his wife, Laura, Scott Gajowski, Mark Gajowski II and his wife, Meredith, Gregory Gajowski and his wife, Brenda, Erick Stokely and Jared Gajowski; and nine great-grandchildren, Jack, Aiden, Daniel Bruce, Mark III, Max, Morgan, Anna, Brynn and William. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, Dec. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
