Cops: Traffic stop in Flanders leads to arrest for fake prescriptions

A man with a suspended registration was caught with fake prescriptions for drugs to local pharmacies during a traffic stop in Flanders early Friday, Southampton Town police said.

Police said Steven M. Price, 47, of East Quogue was pulled over on Flanders Road and Firehouse Lane in Flanders about 12:50 a.m. He was arrested for aggravated unlicensed driving, driving with a suspended registration, and “multiple other traffic violations,” according to a news release.

Mr. Price had also been under investigation since September for allegedly showing fake drug prescriptions to local pharmacies. After his arrest, Mr. Price was also charged with two counts of possession of a forged instrument, both felonies.

He was arraigned in Southampton Town court and held in Suffolk County jail on $23,000 bail, police said.
