Donald P. Zlatniski

Former Aquebogue resident Donald P. Zlatniski of Center Moriches died Dec. 21 in Center Moriches. He was 55.

The son of John and Irene (Doroski) Zlatniski, he was born March 1, 1960, in Riverhead. He graduated from Mercy High School in Riverhead in 1978.

Mr. Zlatniski was a formerly a dispatcher for the Riverhead Police Department. He served as chief of police for Westhampton Dunes Police.

Family members said he loved traveling, especially traveling to Florida.

Mr. Zlatniski is survived by his parents; his sister, Judith (John) Brady of Dix Hills; his brother David (Donna) of Center Moriches; his nieces, Grace Brady and Danielle Zlatniski and his nephews, John Brady and David Zlatniski.

The family received visitors Dec. 27 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service took place Dec. 28 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
