Thomas D’Eletto

Thomas D’Eletto, 57, died at approximately 5:30 a.m. on December 23, 2015 from injuries sustained in a head-on collision on Sunrise Highway. He was on his way to work. 

Thomas D’Eletto was born in Huntington Hospital May 3, 1958, to Ida and Attilio D’Eletto of Northport. He worked as a civil engineering inspector for Dvirka & Bartilucci, an engineering firm located in Woodbury.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his son, Michael D’Eletto and daughter, Christina Wesnofske; father, Attilio D’Eletto and mother, Ida D’Eletto; brothers, Steven and Robert D’Eletto, and sister, Donna Condon, and one granddaughter, Grace Wesnofske. He is preceded in death by his second son, Daniel D’Eletto, who passed at the age of 13.

Thomas is remembered as a man who would always put the needs of his family members before his own. He recognized the value of spending time with those he loved; he understood that life is precious and that we should not waste a single moment.

Services will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at McLaughlin-Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29,  at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Burial services will be continued at the St. Isidore’s Cemetery immediately following the mass.
