A former Walmart employee who allegedly stole more than $10,000 worth of merchandise over a month from the Riverhead store was arrested Jan. 26, Riverhead Town police said.

Bianca N. Roberson, 24, of Riverhead was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, following an investigation that spanned several months by Riverhead detectives, police said.

Police received information from Walmart Asset Protection that the former employee had been stealing from the store on numerous occasions. An investigation found Ms. Roberson allegedly removed items from the store with the help of “numerous subjects,” according to a release. Ms. Roberson allowed $10,782 worth of merchandise to exit the store without the accomplices paying for the items, police said.

The investigation into additional suspects is ongoing, police said.

Ms. Roberson was arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court.
