Cops: Woman stole Shih Tzu from Puppy Experience in Aquebogue

A 24-year-old Farmingville woman turned herself into police today to face a fourth-degree grand larceny charge, Riverhead Town police said.

Jacqulin Tejada allegedly stole a Shih Tzu puppy from Puppy Experience in Aquebogue on Jan. 17, police said. The puppy was recovered three days later by the police and returned to Puppy Experience, police said.

Ms. Tejada was arrested after turning herself in today. Police did not specify how the puppy was first recovered.

Fourth-degree grand larceny is a felony.
