Robert K. Edwards Jr. of Calverton and Inverness, Fla. died Feb. 7. in Lecanto, Fla. He was 87.
He was born May 4, 1928, in Southampton, and was the son of Robert and Henrietta (Locker) Edwards.
Robert was a member of the Army National Guard and worked as a troubleshooter for Long Island Lighting Company, retiring in 1989 after 40 years of service.
Robert enjoyed keeping himself busy by performing home improvement projects, helping people, doing arts and crafts, making toy planes out of aluminum cans, bicycling, air boating and boating, water skiing and fishing on Long Island Sound.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcy Aschenbach of Inverness; his sons, Robert K. III (Nancy), of Center Moriches and Terry L. of Riverhead; his daughter, Marcy J. (Gerald) Pace of Citrus Springs; seven grandchildren, Eric W. (Elena) Kart, Michele (Jason) Thompson and Sharon, Brian, Joshua, Timothy and Rebecca Edwards and seven great-grandchildren, Olivia Kart, Alex Martinez, Jayden Wagner, Leah Thompson, Lorelai Thompson, Alyssa Thompson and Katie Thompson.
The family received visitors Feb. 10 at the Hooper Funeral Home in Inverness.
