A husband, wife and infant were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center with minor injuries after they were involved in a car accident just west of the Route 58 traffic circle on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Riverhead police, a Jeep was traveling eastbound on Route 58 as a Mitsubishi with the couple and infant were attempting to turn left onto the road.
The two cars collided and the road was temporarily closed in the wake of the crash.
Riverhead Fire Department was called to the scene to get the wife out of the car, though no serious injuries were reported.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene as well, transporting the family to the hospital.
The road was opened around 4 p.m. No charges are expected.
