Riverhead police searching for another Toys ‘R’ Us burglary suspect

Riverhead police are on the hunt for a suspect who broke into the Toys ‘R’ Us store on route 58 in the overnight hours Sunday. It is the second time in two months the store has been burglarized.

An officer on routine patrol heard on audible alarm at the store at about 4:20 a.m., police said in a press release. The officer also noticed that a window on the northwest side of the store had been broken.

A K9 track was conducted but the suspect was not located, police said. It is not yet known if any merchandise was removed from the store, police said.

The store was previously burglarized on Christmas Day.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.  All calls will remain confidential, according to police.
