Jamesport Fire Department hosts gas emergency training

The Jamesport Fire Department held a gas emergency preparedness training session sponsored by National Grid on Saturday, according to a press release issued by the fire department.

Members from East End fire departments also participated in the safety exercise, which included how to respond to gas leaks, explosions and other gas emergencies caused by structure fires, the release states.

“A sound, pre-planned, working partnership between the local emergency response agencies and National Grid promotes a well coordinated response to future gas emergencies, which provides the best protection for our residents,” Jamesport Fire Department Chief John Andrejack said in a statement.
