Antonio P. Paladino

Antonio P. Paladino of Mattituck died Feb. 23 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 88.

He was born in Queens on Sept. 1, 1927, to Salvatore and Eva (Greco) Paladino.

During World War II, Antonio served in the U.S. Navy. He was discharged as a fireman first class and was the recipient of the Victory Medal.

Antonio is survived by three children, Linda Verre (Michael) of Wantagh, Richard Paladino (Kelly) of Jamesport and Robert Paladino (Tammy) of Mattituck; a sister, Rose Gerriets; and nine grandchildren, Victoria Pace, Angela Paladino, Valerie Paladino, Michelle Paladino, Robbie Paladino, Michael Verre, Krista Paladino, Richie Paladino and Kristen Grattan.

The family received visitors Feb. 25 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 26 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck, where Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt officiated. Interment, with U.S. Navy honors took place at Calverton National Cemetery.
