Police: Pair of arrests for unlicensed drivers in Flanders-Riverside area

A 37-year-old Riverside man and a 39-year-old Southampton woman were arrested in separate incidents in the Flanders-Riverside area this week for driving without a license, Southampton Town police said. The arrests occurred a little more than an hour apart Tuesday.

Aiyana Smith William was spotted driving with inadequate headlights on Flanders Road in Flanders about 9:30 p.m. The officer who stopped her discovered she had a suspended license and she was charged with third-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

Then at about 10:50 p.m. police allegedly stopped Mario Patzan-Yoc on Pine Street in Riverside for failing to signal a turn. He was also found to be driving with a suspended license and charged with third-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

Both drivers were issued appearance tickets for future court dates, police said.
