Police release photos of gas station robbery suspect

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers released Friday photos taken from surveillance footage of the March 8 armed robbery at Mobile gas station in Riverhead.

The suspect entered into the gas station, located at 1575 Old Country Rd., at around 2:20 a.m. and displayed a semi-automatic handgun while demanding money from the cash register, officials said. He fled on foot after the cashier gave him money, police said.

The suspect wore a white-colored cloth to cover his face, a dark-gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored sweat pants and white sneakers, officials said.

He is described as a black male with a light complexion and between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet ten inches tall, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in any incident. Anyone with information about the crimes will kept anonymous. Confidential calls can be made to 1-800-220-TIPS.
