Cops: Four people caught with a Taser in Flanders

Southampton Town police arrested four people between the ages of 17 and 21 on a weapons charge in Flanders Friday.

Colin Vanvliet, 21, along with a 17-year-old man, 18-year-old woman and 20-year-old man were parked on the corner of Polk Street and Cypress Avenue in Flanders around 11 p.m. when officers approached their vehicle, which reportedly smelled like marijuana.

While interviewing them, police reportedly found marijuana and a taser inside the car.

All four subjects were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

Mr. Vanvliet was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, officials said.

Police did not release the names of the younger suspects.
