Barbara A. Downs

Barbara A. Downs of Aquebogue died March 23 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 78. 

The daughter of Henry and Florence Kessel, she was born June 16, 1937, in Riverhead.

Ms. Downs worked for Hazeltine in Riverhead. She also owned a scallop show on Pulaski Street in Riverhead.

Family members said she enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Riverhead Senior Center and Foxwood Casinos.

Ms. Downs is survived by her son Henry, of Riverhead and her sister, Mary Sujeski.

Cremation was private. Arrangements are in the care of McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
