George Camalich, 77, of Reeves Park in Riverhead passed peacefully surrounded by family April 26, 2016.
He was the beloved father of three children, Janine (Gleusner) of Cold Spring Harbor, Erica of West Islip and Brandon of Hauppauge. He is survived by Irene Camalich of Hauppauge and was the cherished grandfather of Jake, Jaime and Georgia Gleusner of Cold Spring Harbor.
George was a graphic designer who studied art and design at the Pratt Institute and flourished as an art director for a number of advertising and communication companies in New York City.
In his years of retirement, George was on the board of directors at the Sound Park Heights association in Reeves Park. He loved the beach, where he spent time with family, and was an avid fisherman. He also displayed his affection for the Long Island Sound by painting many seascapes and was a contributor of his artwork at the East End Arts in Riverhead.
A celebration of his life was held with a Mass of Christian Burial April 29 at St. John the Evangelist R.C.Church in Riverhead. Burial followed at Saint Raymonds Cemetery in the Bronx.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead.
