Cops: Flanders man broke order of protection by carrying loaded gun

Southampton police

Southampton Town Police arrested a Flanders man on Wednesday following reports of him illegally carrying a loaded gun, according to a police press release.

Bryan Hale, 49, of Flanders was arrested at his home for multiple gun charges, according to the release. Several reports of Mr. Hale possessing a loaded gun were reported to police in Southampton hamlet over the last several weeks, police said.

During the investigation, Mr. Hale was found to be in possession of a 9-mm Hi-Point loaded handgun, according to the release.

He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree criminal contempt, all of which are felonies, police said.

Police said there was an order of protection against Mr. Hale prohibiting him from being in possession of any guns, which led to the charges.
