Anita J. Fiore

Anita J. Fiore of Mattituck died Saturday, May 28, at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue. She was 69 years old.

She was born in New York City Oct. 23, 1946, to Rosaria J. (née Buttitta) and Domenico Cosolito and raised in Greenwich Village. The family moved to Long Island when Anita was a teenager and settled in West Babylon.

A graduate of West Babylon High School, Anita moved to Mattituck in 1971.
For many years, she worked at the 7-Eleven stores in Cutchogue and Southold. In more recent years, she was a home health aide with East End Hospice.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed celebrity gossip and was an avid reader of the Star and Enquirer. She also enjoyed cooking, especially Italian food.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Ann Fiore of Patchogue and Danielle (Ned) Grathwohl of Mattituck; two granddaughters, Skyler and Macie Grathwohl and her fiancé, Richard Gibbs. She was predeceased by her brother, Dennis Cosolito.

Family members said her granddaughters were everything.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.Thursday, June 2, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery.
