Poetry Street’s second anniversary in Riverhead this Sunday

Poetry Street

Do you enjoy creating poems and want to share them with others?

Then head down to Blue Duck Bakery Café in Riverhead this Sunday, June 26, to celebrate Poetry Street’s second anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m.

Performers are asked to sign up at 1:30 p.m. and pay $5 to participate in the open mic event.

Each artist will have three minutes to perform their original work.

The event will also feature local poets, including: Robert Savino, James Banks (“Dr. Love”), Russ Green, Nancy Keating, Bri Onishea and Kelly Powell.

Poetry Street was created by Susan Dingle as a spoken work project for the East End Arts Council’s first JumpstART program in 2014.

Since then, it has met every fourth Sunday of the month at Blue Duck Bakery Café, allowing interested poets of varied backgrounds to share their work.

The event is hosted by Ms. Dingle and her co-founder Robert “Bubbie” Brown, as well as Maggie Bloomfield and Clare Lundberg.
