Roy Mack Jr.

Lifelong Riverhead resident Roy Mack Jr. died Aug. 25 at his home. He was 67.

The son of Roy and Bernice Mack, he was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Georgia and graduated from Riverhead High School in 1967.

Mr. Mack served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a mason for Roy Mack Construction.

Family members said Mr. Mack “could fix anything” and he especially enjoyed repairing cars.

Predeceased by his father in 2008 and his sister Gwendolyn Branch in 2016, Mr. Mack is survived by his wife, Jerrydein (née Davis); his mother, of Riverhead; his brother Gregory, of Riverhead; his sisters Charlene Crump, Cheryl Atkins and Cynthia Mack; his daughter, Anitra; and one grandchild. He was also predeceased by his brothers Larry and Dennis; and his sister Diane.

The family will receive visitors Friday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to noon at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a funeral service will immediately follow. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
