Charles W. Sehy

Charles W. Sehy of Calverton died Jan. 2 at the Smithtown Center for Rehabilitation. He was 88. 

The son of Charles and Alice (Strein) Sehy, he was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Queens.

On Aug. 7, 1954, he married Catherine Burey in Queens Village.

Mr. Sehy served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948.

He worked as an electronics technician at Harris Corporation in Syosset.

Family members said he enjoyed fishing and farm animals.

Mr. Sehy is survived by his wife, of Calverton; his children, Charles, of Lake Grove, Thomas, of Florida, Maryann Catanzaro of Holbrook, and James and John, both of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, Jan. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
