Southampton blotter: Flanders man arrested on weapons charge

A Flanders man was charged with possessing a weapon in Riverside last Thursday, according to a Southampton Town police report.

Justen Brown, 26, was stopped around 12:25 p.m. near Flanders Road and Ludlam Avenue for having no rear brake light, officials said. When police approached his car, they allegedly noticed it smelled like marijuana. An investigation revealed he was reportedly in possession of marijuana and a 9mm pistol and magazine holding 10 rounds of ammunition.

Mr. Brown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and two violations.

• New York State Police charged Dwight Bryant, 62, of Port Jefferson Station with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, on Saturday in Riverhead.

• Zbigniew Lutrzykowski, 43, of Flanders allegedly had a .20 percent blood alcohol content after police stopped him near Flanders Road and Long Neck Boulevard for driving erratically on Sunday, Southampton police said. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and multiple traffic violations.

• Yoni Cruz Lopez, 26, of Riverhead was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 58 and Mill Road, state police said.

• A Riverside man was arrested Sunday for drug possession in Riverside.

Eddie Buckley, 61, was seen standing on the corner of Pine Street and Old Quogue Road around 9:45 p.m. attempting to clean a screen from a crack pipe, officials said. Mr. Buckley reportedly told police he found the pipe on a fence. Police searched him and allegedly found marijuana crack cocaine in his front right pocket.

Mr. Buckley was arrested and taken to headquarters, where a small baggie with more cocaine fell out of the pocket of a hooded sweatshirt he’d been wearing during a second search, officials said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and a violation.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for drug possession in Riverside last Thursday.

Brian Gerke, 35, was reportedly found to have an active bench warrant from Riverhead Town Justice Court for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest on Jan. 4. During a search at around 12:25 p.m. on Randall Street, he was found to have suboxone pills in his wallet and pants pocket, officials said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

• Two people were charged Friday with trespassing and drug possession in Riverside.

Carl Foster, 55, of Mastic Beach, and Shawanna James, 44, of Flanders, were found inside a secured fence and secured building on Vail Avenue around 10:20 p.m. without permission to be there, officials said. They were also found to be in possession of crack cocaine; each told officials it belonged to the other person, police said.

Both suspects were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal trespass, both misdemeanors.

• Police arrested two homeless men for trespassing in Flanders last Tuesday.

Cesar Rivas-Deras, 26, and Marvin Vasquez-Castillo, 21, were seen at an Oaks Avenue residence around 9:20 a.m. by the property’s manager, who claimed the men didn’t have permission to be there, officials said. They was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

•Alethea McElroy, 39, of Riverside was charged last Monday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Westhampton Beach woman for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Wednesday.

Evelin Jarquin, 34, was involved in a car accident on Riverleigh Avenue around 5:10 p.m. when police learned she had a suspended license for refusing to submit to a chemical test in August 2016, officials said.

She was brought to headquarters for processing and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

• Alora Jimenez, 23, of Sound Beach was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations last Thursday following a traffic stop, police said.

• Felix Bolanoz, 55, of Ridgewood was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and three violations last Thursday following a traffic stop on Route 24, police said.

• Erick Lopez, 25, of Flanders was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle Saturday following a traffic stop near Flanders Road and Glider Avenue, police said.

• Terrell Harris, 30, of Southampton was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, after he was stopped near Flanders Road and Whitebrook Drive Saturday, police said.

• Danial Nasim, 22, of Hauppauge was charged Saturday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop near Flanders Road and Glider Avenue, police said.

• Jan DeGraff, 56, of Riverhead was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations on Saturday following a traffic stop near Flanders Road and Flanders Boulevard.

• William Kraemer, 55, of Commack was charged with misdemeanor third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and an equipment violation on Monday, police said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
