Cops: Riverhead men arrested for assault, drug possession
Two Riverhead men were arrested Wednesday in connection to an assault earlier this month at a Mill Road home, Riverhead Town police said.
Martineil Price, 38, and Justus Davender, 21, were arrested at around 10:50 a.m. on warrants following an investigation into an alleged assault and menacing that happened at 727 Mill Road on Friday, March 10, officials said.
Both men were charged with third-degree assault and second-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.
Additionally, Mr. Price was found to be in possession of heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana during his arrest and was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Mr. Price was also charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon from another prior investigation, officials said.
Mr. Davender was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana during his arrest and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.
They were both taken to headquarters where they were processed and held for arraignment, officials said.
