Southampton Blotter: Riverside man damaged car in driveway

A Riverside man was arrested last Thursday after he allegedly threw unknown objects at a vehicle using his driveway to turn around, according to a police report.

The vehicle was driven by his neighbor’s friend, police said. One object reportedly struck and shattered the glass on the passenger-side mirror, officials said. Adonias Estrada, 28, was charged with criminal mischief for intent to damage property, police said.

A neighbor also reported that Mr. Estrada threatened he was going to grab a gun, officials said. Witnesses told police they saw Mr. Estrada with a BB gun and responding officers found a broken BB gun in the driveway upon arrival, according to authorities.

• A Mastic man was caught driving under the influence of drugs while drinking alcohol in his vehicle last Sunday in Northampton, police said.

Ryan Nocella, 21, was stopped for speeding on Moriches-Riverhead Road when police noticed an odor of alcohol on his breath, the report states. He was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and a traffic violation, police said.

• Roland Thompson, 42, of Riverhead was arrested Sunday on Flanders Road in Flanders and charged with third-degree unlicensed operation and a vehicle violation, police said. Mr. Thompson was stopped for an expired registration and was found to be driving with a license that had been suspended twice, officials said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
