Cops: Georgia man caught with loaded guns on Silver Beech Lane
An 80-year-old Georgia man was caught with three loaded handguns Monday night inside a vehicle parked on Silver Beech Lane, according to a Riverhead police press release.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway at a Calverton home shortly after 8:05 p.m. and found Medicus Brown of Lithia Springs, Ga., inside a 1996 Chevy Tahoe with Georgia license plates, the release states.
While interviewing Mr. Brown, officers found he was in possession of a loaded .22 caliber handgun, officials said. During the investigation, police said they also found he was in possession of two other loaded handguns: a .22 caliber revolver and a .38 caliber revolver.
Mr. Brown was arrested and charged with three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was taken to police headquarters and held for an arraignment.
