SWR students honored with Best Video Project at Long Island Youth Summit

Shoreham-Wading River High School juniors Liam Clifford and Christian Wesselborg earned the Best Video Project award at the Long Island Youth Summit earlier this month for a video they produced on renewable energy.

The students created the video in hopes of qualifying for the summit, which was held at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue on April 7. In its eighth year, the summit brings high school students together for a day of interactive workshops with experts in the fields of medicine, environment, business, the economy and leadership.

“I am so proud that our students were recognized at this prestigious event,” said Alana Philcox, the student’s project mentor and an AP Seminar teacher. “The time and energy they devoted to this project on top of their rigorous schedules is commendable.”
