Two men injured in Route 58 crash

The driver of a pickup truck was ejected and another man was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Route 58 in Riverhead Wednesday morning.

Police were still sorting through the details of what exactly happened in the crash, which occurred shortly before 9 a.m.

The one man was at least partially ejected and ended up on the ground near the eastbound lanes in front of the old Walmart property, according to police.

Sgt. Harry Hill said that man was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with an undisclosed injury that did not appear to be life-threatening.

The driver of a sedan involved complained of chest pains and was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center.

A third driver told police he was involved in the crash but he was not injured.
