Elena M. Gray

Elena M. Gray of Flanders died May 5 at the Kanas Center for Hospice in Quiogue. She was 54. 

The daughter of Jesus and Josefa Marte, she was born Sept. 5, 1962, in the Dominican Republic and graduated from William Floyd High School in 1980.

Ms. Gray worked as a nurse in Coram. Family members said she enjoyed crocheting and singing.

Predeceased by her husband, Jeffrey, in 2014 and her mother in 2002, Ms. Gray is survived by her children, Jeffrey, of Mastic Beach, Edward of Flanders and Rosemary, of Coram; her father; her siblings, Aura Marte of Wading River, Marcos Marte of New Jersey, Kattia Marte of New Jersey, Jesus H. Marte of Riverhead and Jesus I. Marte Jr. of New Jersey.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, May 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverhead Cemetery.
