Dr. Robert W. Pellicone

Dr. Robert W. Pellicone passed away Feb. 2, 2018, leaving behind his beloved husband, Patrick Collins-Pellicone. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2010 and valiantly battled the debilitating effects.

Dr. Pellicone was a proud public school educator. He started his career in Pasadena, Calif. as a teacher and quickly started his ascent into administration. At the time of his retirement in 2010, Dr. Robert Pellicone had a remarkable career to look back on, which included an astonishing 25 years as superintendent of schools divided up between such notable districts as Shoreham-Wading River Central School District, Eastchester Union Free School District, Beverly Hills, and Nantucket Public Schools.

With the improvements and curriculum changes that he implemented in school districts across this nation and the countless number of children that have, or will one day have, benefited from his hard work, it is impossible to conceptualize the legacy that Bob Pellicone leaves behind. Many of these children go on to do great things as a direct result of the education they received. He leaves this world a much better place than the one into which he was born.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Robert Pellicone Memorial Scholarship Fund, 7 Sander Court, Middle Island, New York 11953. Donations in any amount will be greatly appreciated as we try to keep Bob’s legacy alive.
