Cops: Domino’s Pizza delivery person robbed in Riverhead

Riverhead Town police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred Friday night while a Domino’s Pizza employee was out trying to make a delivery. 

According to police, the employee was approached by three men who were wearing black sweatshirts while he was attempting a delivery in the West Oakland Drive area at 11:07 p.m. The men “forcibly removed an unknown amount of cash from the victim and fled the area in an unknown direction,” police said in a press release.

Police did not indicate the robbers displayed were armed.

A K9 unit assisted detectives in searching the area, but came up empty.

The Riverhead Town Ambulance Corps transported the delivery person to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information in this case to call the town police at 631-727-4500.
