Martha M. Rooney

Martha M. Rooney of Riverhead died March 27 at her home. She was 92.

The daughter of Theodore and Minnie Busch, she was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Greenpoint, N.Y.

Ms. Rooney worked as a caretaker for children. Family members said she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed old movies, making photo albums and card games.

Predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 1991, Ms. Rooney is survived by her daughter, Ann-Marie Osborne of Mastic; daughter, Theresa, of Bay Shore; sons, Walter Jr., of Calverton and William, of Riverhead and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Interment took place April 2 at Calverton National Cemetery.

Arrangements are the care of McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
