Corinne Segal of Riverhead N.Y. passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Corinne, known by all who loved her as “Corky,” was born to Issac and Rebecca Froelich in East New York on June 27, 1928. She is survived by her adoring husband, Meyer; her three sons: Barry, Randy and David; her 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Her son Alan predeceased her.

Corky, along with Mickey, were pillars of the Riverhead community. They were active members of Temple Israel since their marriage, 70 years ago. Corky volunteered there with the Sisterhood and Haddasah.

Corky succeeded in many fields throughout her career but she was best known as the first smiling face to greet visitors at the information desk of the Riverhead Free Library, where she worked for 28 years.

Everyone who knew Corky was inspired by her unparalleled selflessness and infinite kindness and compassion. Her sharp wit and incredible sense of humor always left a lasting impression. Corky and Mickey’s relationship set the bar for love and devotion.
