Cops: DWI checkpoints, increased patrols result in six arrests

Six people were arrested for driving while intoxicated during increased patrols by Riverhead police during Labor Day weekend.

The enforcement included increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints, which were held overnight Saturday between 8 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.

One subject, Alonzo Sazo-Tocay, 33, of Riverhead was arrested for DWI and aggravated unlicensed as a result of the checkpoints, Riverhead Town police said.

Five others were also arrested for DWI during the increased patrols, according to police.

Ricardo Polanco Peraza, 37, of Riverhead was charged with DWI.

Nancy Walker, 68, of Greenport was charged with DWI.

John Joseph Finn, 55, of Riverhead was charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed and criminal possession of stolen property. Riverhead Town police said Mr. Finn was in possession of a stolen vehicle at the time of his arrest.

Hilario Hernandez Rubio, 41, of Riverhead was charged with felony DWI.

Ciara A. Love, 21, of Riverhead was charged with DWI.

Above subjects were processed at Riverhead Police Headquarters and held for arraignment.
