Southampton Blotter: Woman arrested for driving with a suspended license

Southampton Town police arrested Sarah Kaufman, 35, of Riverhead, for driving with a suspended license in Northampton Friday.

After she was pulled over for speeding on Lakeview Drive around 1:14 a.m., an officer found her license had been suspended in July for failing to answer a summons. Ms. Kaufman was arrested and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

She is due back in court Sept. 19.

• A Hampton Bays man was arrested in Riverside last Tuesday for driving without a valid license.

Southampton Town police stopped Dylan Rogers, 24, near Enterprise Zone Road around 2:35 p.m.

A check of his driving history revealed that his license had been suspended on three separate dates, police said.

Mr. Rogers was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
