Michael S. D’Agostino

Michael S. D’Agostino of Riverhead died Dec. 6. He was 81.Born May 6, 1937, in New York City to Pio and Matilda D’Agostino, he graduated from Aviation High School in Manhattan in 1955.

Mr. D’Agostino served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He and his wife, Annette, were married June 3, 1961, at St. Sebastian R.C. Church in Manhattan.

He had been an acoustical engineer for Roanwell Corp. in New York City, and was treasurer of Sunken Ponds Estates homeowner association and a member of Sunken Ponds veterans group. He enjoyed airplanes and science fiction and flew model airplanes.

Mr. D’Agostino is survived by his wife; his daughter, AnneMarie Lloyd of Rhode Island; and one grandchild.

The family received visitors Dec. 9 at McLaughlin-Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Services took place Dec. 10 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
