Peggy J. Perkins

Lifelong Riverhead resident Peggy J. Perkins died Jan. 2 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 81.

She was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Riverhead to Konstanty and Anna Klodaski. A 1948 graduate of Riverhead High School, she married Clarence B. Perkins on Jan. 1, 1955, at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead.

She worked as an operator for New York Telephone, belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and, according to family members, enjoyed traveling.

Ms. Perkins is survived by her husband; her children, Sharon McNulty of Massachusetts, Linda Troyan of California and Nancy Takacs of Hampton Bays; her sister, Anna Mickaliger of Riverhead; her brother, William Klodaski of North Carolina; and four grandchildren.

Visiting hours took place Jan. 3 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service was held Jan. 4 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
