Dorothea M. Cioffi

Dorothea M. Cioffi of Riverhead died Jan. 15 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She was 71.

She was born May 31, 1940, in Queens to Mercedes (Mace) and Robert Rice. She worked as a clerk in the Suffolk County Treasurer’s office.

Predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2000, Ms. Cioffi she is survived by her sons, Robert, of Coram, Michael, of Yaphank, Darren, of Centereach, James, of Riverhead, and Jonathan, of Shirley; her brothers, Robert, of Florida and Arthur, of Coram; her sister, Judith Risoli of Riverhead; eight grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Jan. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a service will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
