Pauline Woschnik

Former Riverhead resident Pauline Woschnik died June 9 in Davidson, N.C. She was 75.

Born July 5, 1936, to Frank and Wanda (Cybulski) Perkowski, she was raised in Riverhead and attended local schools. She worked as an operator at New York Telephone Company in Riverhead for 42 years.

She belonged to Telephone Pioneers of America, Suffolk County Chapter, as well as the Women of the Mooseand VFW in Riverhead and was an active member of her church.

Ms. Woschnik is survived by her husband, Walter Woschnik; her daughter, Sharon Burgess of Riverhead; her son, Philip Kess of Aquebogue; her stepsons, Walter Woschnik of Eastport and Charles Woschnik of Davidson, N.C.; her sisters Marion Kruk of Mooresville, N.C., and Constance Smith of Wilmar, Texas; her brother, Allen Perkowski of Riverhead; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her sister Gloria Brown.

A memorial service was held June 13 at Shearer Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, N.C.
