It looks like a tenant has been found for the vacant Borders Books store building on Route 58 in Riverhead.

And sorry, book fans, it’s not Barnes & Noble.

Designer Shoe Warehouse, also known as DSW, has obtained a town building permit to renovate the empty building in the massive Riverhead Centre, and has already begun work on the interior.

DSW describes itself as a “leading branded footwear and accessories retailer that offers a wide selection of brand name and designer dress, casual and athletic footwear and accessories for women, men and kids.”

The company has 366 stores in 41 states, according to its website.

Borders closed all of its stores last year after going into bankruptcy. It had been a tenant in Riverhead Centre since 2003.
