Charlotte Irmgard Kutscher

Charlotte Irmgard Kutscher of Jamesport died Sept. 3 in Malone, N.Y. She was 90.

She was born Feb. 7, 1922, to Rudolph and Charlotte Boehm in Westphalia, Germany, where her father worked as a coal miner. The family came to this country in July 1939.

Ms. Kutscher enjoyed swimming, diving, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was proud to be a coal miner’s daughter.

Predeceased by her husband, Arthur Kutscher, in 1992 and her daughter, Susan Kutscher, in 1993, she is survived by her son, Chester; daughter-in-law Felecia; grandchildren Alethea Byrkit and Maxwell Kutscher; great-grandson, Sammy Jason Byrkit; and former daughter-in-law, Rosemary Salerno. She was also predeceased by her grandson Jason Kutscher, who died in 1994 in Korea, where he was a U.S. Air Force pararescueman.

Visiting hours took place Sept. 9 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Services and interment were at Calverton National Cemetery on Sept. 10.
