Alice Elizabeth Jeneski

Longtime Riverhead resident Alice Elizabeth Jeneski died Sept. 14 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She was 91.

She was born Sept. 22, 1921, in New Suffolk to William and Mae Raynor and attended Riverhead High School. She married Edward Jeneski on May 16, 1948, in Riverhead.

She was a member of the Riverhead Polish Independence Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and, according to family members, won first place in the RPIC Ladies Bowling League in 2009-10.

Ms. Jeneski is survived by her husband; her daughters, Janice Pfeifer of Riverhead, Carol Gustafson of East Quogue, Alice Bender of Wading River and Loretta, of Santa Monica, Calif.; her brother, Raymond Raynor of Mattituck; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours took place Sept. 18 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service was held Sept. 19 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
